First round of Highway 13 Catfight Thursday at the O'
Round one of this season's Highway 13 Catfight gets underway Thursday as the Drury Lady Panthers host Southwest Baptist in DU's home opener. Tipoff is at 6:05 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Â
Drury is off to a 2-0 start after an 84-67 win at Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, then a 110-69 victory at Lindenwood on Sunday. Thursday's game is the season opener for Southwest Baptist after their first two games were postponed due to concerns from the coronavirus pandemic. SBU went 15-13 last year with a 9-11 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Â
The Lady Panthers are 11-2 against the Bearcats all-time and won both games last year in SBU's first year in the GLVC. Drury won the Dec. 3 game at the O' 93-58 and took the contest in Bolivar 95-64 on Jan. 20.
Â
Paige Robinson was the GLVC Player of the Week for her performance last week and is averaging 27.5 points in her first two games. She had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the season-opener at UMSL, then had a career-high 37 points at Lindenwood on Sunday.
Â
After Thursday's game, the Lady Panthers travel to William Jewell for a 1 pm game in Liberty.
