Alyssa Moore to give the Drury softball Panthers a 4-3 victory over Upper Iowa at Thompson Field Saturday.
Upper Iowa struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth on an error and an RBI single up the middle. Drury evened the score in their half of the fourth on an RBI groundout by
Kinzy Mathis and a double off the left field fence by
Grace King to plate
Jacy Ummel.
Upper Iowa went on top in the top of the seventh when an RBI fielders choice gave the Peacocks the go ahead run. Upper Iowa started off the bottom of the seventh allowing a single by
Serenity Healy and then walked two batters to load the bases with no outs.
Madison Hecker tied it up on an RBI groundout before Hale drove home the winning run on a base knock to left.
Lauren Beier (1-2) received the win for Drury and Abby McKay (0-2) got the loss for Upper Iowa. Upper Iowa had seven hits and Drury finished with four.
Up next for the Drury softball Panthers will be Drury Invitational opening day games vs. Wayne State at 12 p.m. and Lincoln at 2 p.m. on Friday.
