Round One of Highway 13 Catfight set for Thursday
Drury's rivalry with Southwest Baptist gets renewed on Thursday as the Panthers head to Bolivar in the first round of the Highway 13 Catfight. Tipoff is at 6 pm at the Jane & Ken Meyer Center. No spectators are allowed at the event as per GLVC rules.

Drury is 5-3 and coming off of a 91-81 win over Rockhurst on Saturday. The Panthers won two of their three games last week, also picking up a 94-73 victory over William Jewell last Thursday. Their lone loss of the week was a 78-73 setback at Missouri-St. Louis. Drury is in second place in the GLVC's West Division entering Thursday's game.

Southwest Baptist is in first place in the GLVC-West with a 7-2 record. The Bearcats have been idle since their Jan. 14 win at Rockhurst, 72-59. SBU's only two losses on the year have been at UMSL, 71-63, on Dec. 14, and an 84-77 loss at home to Southern Indiana on Jan. 12.

The Panthers lead the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 40-19, but the two teams split their two contests last year, with Drury winning at home 76-70 on Dec. 3 and the Bearcats taking the game in Bolivar, 82-74, on Jan. 20. Last year was the first season in the GLVC for Southwest Baptist.

Thursday's game is the first of two meetings between the teams this year. Drury's next game is also against SBU as they take on the Bearcats next Tuesday for a 6:05 pm game at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Field Goals Falling
Drury's offense has been red-hot from the field in their last two games. The Panthers shot .609 from the floor on Saturday against Rockhurst and were even hotter in their previous game, a 91-81 win. Drury connected on a .614 clip against William Jewell last Thursday in their 94-73 victory over the Cardinals. In their last two games, the Panthers have gone a combined 63 for 103 - good for a .611 shooting percentage. Drury is shooting .490 from the floor on the season, the second-best mark in the conference.
