OSAGE BEACH, Mo.— The Drury bass fishing team put together another strong weekend, and they clinched the Major League Fishing Central Conference championship with their finish on Friday.
Brock Bila and
Dylan Chambers finished 3
rd out of 149 boats at the MLF event at Lake of the Ozarks on Friday. The duo landed five fish weighing 13 pounds, 12 ounces.
Jacob Welch and
Lee Lambrecht came in 21
st with five fish at 10 pounds, 15 ounces, while
Cole Breeden hauled in a total of 10 pounds, 13 ounces for 25
th place. McKendree's boat finished first with 14 pounds, four ounces.
Drury's finish gave them the Central Conference title, the first such championship in program history.
Saturday,
Beau Browning and
Hunter Baird posted a sixth-place finish in the Arkansas Collegiate Series tour stop at Crystal Springs near Arkadelphia. The two caught their limit of five fish at 8.70 pounds. A duo from Arkansas Tech won the tournament catching a total of 12.36 pounds.
The Panthers compete again on Oct. 30 in the Arkansas Collegiate Series event at Greers Ferry Lake near Heber Springs, Arkansas.
