Drury hosts UMSL on Senior Day
The Drury Panthers host the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday at 2 pm at the O'Reilly Family Event Center, and the program will honor its four senior players before the contest as part of Senior Day.

With the uncertainty of the schedule dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, Drury University made the decision to schedule Senior Day before the final home game of the season to ensure the opportunity to honor the team's graduating players: Conley Garrison, Obi Okafor, Cal Hartley, and Brandon Emmert.

Fans can watch Drury's Senior Day ceremonies, including the Senior video presentation, on the team's video broadcast outlet, the GLVCSN. Ceremonies will start approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled 2 pm tipoff.

The Panthers are 6-8 and coming off of a 90-71 win over Lindenwood on Thursday at the O'. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for Drury. The Panthers are in third place in the West Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Missouri-St. Louis is 12-3 and owns the second-best record in the GLVC. The Tritons, however, are also in second place in the Central Division, trailing seven-ranked Truman State (10-1). UMSL is coming off of a 71-65 win at Southwest Baptist on Thursday.

Saturday's game is a rematch of a Jan. 12 game in St. Louis won by the Tritons 78-73. Drury led 33-31 at halftime, but UMSL opened the second half with a 14-4 run. Marty Jackson had 20 points to lead the Tritons, while Jason Montgomery had a career-high 35 for the Panthers.

Drury leads the all-time series 25-8, but the Tritons have won the last three meetings winning both contests last year and the game earlier this season on Jan. 12.

Even with three games on the schedule during the last two weeks, the schedule doesn't lighten for the Panthers, who have three more games next week, all on the road. Drury travels to Rockhurst on Tuesday for a 5:30 pm game in a game that was originally scheduled for Dec. 12. The Panthers are at McKendree on Thursday and at Southern Indiana on Feb. 13.

Malek's mojo
Drury guard Malek Davis has matched or surpassed a career scoring mark in each of his last three games.

The sophomore of St. Louis and Cardinal Ritter High School had 15 points at Maryville on Jan. 30, then had 18 points on Tuesday at William Jewell, and he scored 19 points on Thursday at home against Lindenwood.

Davis is averaging 17.3 points in his last three games and is shooting .579 from the field in that span, going 22 for 38 from the floor.

Conley Garrison moves to 11th on Drury's all-time scoring list
Drury guard Conley Garrison became the 12th player in Drury history to top 1,600 career points when he reached the milestone on Feb. 2 at William Jewell. The Bolivar native also moved up to 11th in the Panthers all-time scoring list passing Roland Schultz (1967-71) on Feb. 4 as part of a 24 point game against Lindenwood. Garrison is 132 points away from cracking Drury's top 10 on the all-time scoring list.
