BOLIVAR, Mo.- Drury took both games of a road doubleheader with two wins over Southwest Baptist on Saturday afternoon in Bolivar, Missouri. The Panthers took game one 7-0, then won game two 9-2.

The wins give Drury a 5-1 start in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and an 11-6 record overall. The Bearcats fell to 1-11 and 0-4 in the league.

Drury blew open game one with four runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 7-0 win. The Panthers got solo home runs in the inning from
Lauren Beier, her fourth of the year, and
Grace King, her third of the season.
Megan Tersteeg went 2 for 2 at the plate with a run and a stolen base.

Beier (3-1) got the complete-game shutout win allowing only five hits and one walk while striking out four.

Drury took control of game two with a six-run second inning. The Panthers took advantage of five Southwest Baptist errors in the game that led to six unearned runs, but Bearcats pitching also surrendered six walks.

Beier went 3 for 4 at the plate with a run scored, and
Rylee Kolb belted a pinch-hit home run, her fourth bomb of the year.
Karsyn Smith (3-0) got the win for Drury and gave up 10 hits but only let two runs cross the plate. She did not allow a walk and struck out five.Â

The Panthers return to action next Saturday with a doubleheader at Missouri S&T starting at noon in Rolla.
