LEBANON, Ill.- Drury and McKendree split a pair of pitching duals on Saturday as the Panthers lost 2-0 in game one, then took game two 1-0 in eight innings.

Drury ended the day with a 21-9 record and a 14-4 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bearcats went to 18-8 and 15-5 in the GLVC.

The Panthers were shut out for only the second time this year in game one as Bearcats starter Ellie Quaethem fired a one-hitter in game one of the doubleheader. Quaethem (8-4) allowed a first-inning double to
Abby Tiemann, then did not surrender a hit for the rest of the game and went seven innings giving up two walks with four strikeouts.

McKendree scored a run in the second, then added an insurance run in the sixth.

Panthers starter Haylee Van Deventer (8-4) took the loss going five innings and giving up just four hits and two runs.

Drury won the second game in eight innings 1-0.
Lauren Beier's two-out RBI single in the top of the eighth drove in
Abby Tiemann for the game's only run.

Karsyn Smith (7-0) pitched eight shutout innings to get the win. The junior from West Plains gave up six hits with only one walk and four strikeouts. Miranda Gajewski (9-3) took the loss for the Bearcats.

Drury concludes their road trip on Sunday when they take on Southern Indiana for a doubleheader at noon in Evansville.
