Rockhurst Fan Policies
In response to the recent rise of COVID-19 community transmission in Jackson County and the surrounding Kansas City metro, Rockhurst University has updated its mask policy for upcoming athletics events.
Â
Spectators and game personnel will be required to wear a properly fitting mask throughout their duration of time on campus in an effort to protect student-athletes, staff and the overall campus community. The mask policy will remain in place until further notice and aligns with the University's Spring 2022 COVID-10 Policies:

Panthers renew rivalry at Rockhurst
The Drury Panthers renew a rivalry that's nearly a century old as Drury travels to Rockhurst on Saturday for a 3 pm tipoff in Kansas City, Missouri.
Â
Drury is 4-8, 1-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak. The Panthers lost on Thursday at William Jewell 68-58.
Â
Rockhurst has had their last three games canceled due to COVID-19 issues and hasn't played since Jan. 4. The Hawks are 5-9 and 0-4 in the GLVC.
Â
Saturday's game is a rematch of a Dec. 4 contest won by the Panthers 91-62 at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Malek Davis scored a season-high 28 points in that game and went 8 for 14 from three-point range.
Obi Okafor contributed a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. The Panthers owned a 50-26 lead at halftime in that contest, and they outrebounded Rockhurst 50-24 in the game.Â
Â
Drury leads the all-time series against Rockhurst 77-45 and has won six straight against the Hawks as well as 24 of the last 28 match-ups.
Â
About the Hawks
Rockhurst will be playing their first game since Jan. 4 as they have had their last three contests canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Hawks lost that Jan. 4 contest, 68-65, at William Jewell and have gone 0-2 since the holiday break, with their other loss coming to Missouri S&T, 82-62.
Â
Rockhurst has a balanced scoring attack, with Nick Volz averaging 15.1 points and shooting .580 from the field. Jake Auer is averaging 15 and has had 48 three-pointers in 14 games.
Â
The Hawks are one of the best free-throw shooting teams in the conference shooting .750 from the stripe so far this season.
Â
Seeking road breakthrough
The Panthers are looking for their first road win on Saturday at Rockhurst. Drury opened the season with a win away from home, defeating Ohio Dominican 84-69 on a neutral floor at Ferris State, but the Panthers are 0-5 in true road contests this season. Last year, the Panthers went 5-6 on the road but finished the year winning four of their last five road contests.
Â
Next Up
Drury finishes their three-game road trip on Monday with a 3 pm game at Truman State.
