SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury University Athletics has teamed up with The Kitchen, one of the region's largest social service organizations, for a promotional event in conjunction with the Lady Panthers home basketball game this Saturday against Southwest Baptist.
Fans that bring items to be donated to The Kitchen will receive the group rate price of $9 for admission to Saturday's game. The Kitchen, an organization dedicated to bring stability to homeless individuals and families in southwest Missouri, is looking for household items to be donated. Such items include, but are not limited to:
- Bath & hand towels
- Silverware
- Kitchen utensils
- Can openers
- Pots
- Pans
Fans can drop off these items at the O'Reilly Family Event Center box office when they arrive and receive the discount for Saturday's game. Members from The Kitchen organization will also be on hand at Saturday's game to distribute additional information on volunteer opportunities and other ways to assist their organization's efforts to help the homeless in southwest Missouri.
The Drury Lady Panthers are currently the number one ranked team in NCAA-II, are 18-2 with an 8-1 record in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
The full ticket price to Drury basketball games is $12, with kids 12 and under admitted free.
