ST. CHARLES, Mo.– The Drury Panthers went 1-2 in GLVC Duals hosted by Lindenwood as they defeated Davenport 39-6, lost a competitive dual to host Lindenwood, 27-18, and fell to Maryville 30-15 on Sunday in St. Charles, Missouri.
 
Drury opened Sunday's competition with a 30-15 loss to Maryville. Drury's Peter Kuster got the Panthers on the board with a 5-0 decision over Taylor Jokerst at 141 pounds. Trevor Christian earned a 9-3 win at 157 pounds and Will Kuster also picked up a victory at 165 pounds with an 8-2 decision. The Saints closed the dual with three wins at 174 through heavyweight to take the win.
 
The Panthers got four wins against Lindenwood in their second dual of the day but were edged 27-18. Caden Howard, competing at 125 pounds, opened the match with a win by Fall in 4:32 over Austin Kegley. Sam Schultz got a one-point win in the 149 division, defeating Jack Tangen 5-4. Ethan Smith, at 174 pounds, pinned his opponent in 2:23, and Conner Zimmermann won the 197-match with a 7-2 win over Zac Russell.
 
Drury ended the day winning all but one of the contested matches in a 39-6 win over Davenport. Sam Schultz ended the day undefeated as he won by Fall in 4:29 over Liam Hillary. Trevor Christian won by Technical Fall at 2:16 with a 16-1 decision over Jack Sherman. Will Kuster, Ethan Smith, and Logan Zimmermann all won by Fall, with Smith pinning his opponent in 51 seconds.
 
"We had some outstanding individual performances and teammates are improving and gaining the experiences that transitions to helping them win the big matches," said Drury head coach James Reynolds. "We still have a few guys to get healthy and get back on the mat and will continue to get the team ready for the postseason tournaments. As always, we are grateful for the chance to compete and realize that it is a privilege to step onto the mat from one week to the next."
 
The Panthers are scheduled to compete again on Feb. 12 against McKendree at 10 am in St. Charles, Missouri.
