Top-Ranked Lady Panthers at Illinois Springfield
The nation's number one ranked team in NCAA-II women's basketball plays their third game in six days with a road contest at Illinois Springfield on Thursday at 5:30 pm.

Drury is 14-1, 4-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and has won 10 straight. The Lady Panthers got a 77-60 win at Southwest Baptist on Tuesday and picked up a 90-42 victory at home on Sunday against William Jewell.

Illinois Springfield is 7-2 with a 2-1 mark in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars haven't played since Dec. 19 when they upended Division I Bradley, 79-71 in Peoria, Illinois. UIS owns league wins over McKendree, 81-52, and Indianapolis, 63-60. Their lone conference loss was at home to Southern Indiana, 98-85.

The Lady Panthers have never lost to Illinois Springfield, having won all 14 meetings in the all-time series. Drury won the only game between the two squads last year, 75-57, on Feb. 25, 2021, in Springfield, Illinois.

About the Prairie Stars
Illinois Springfield has won seven of their first nine games and opened the year with a four-game winning streak. It marks the second-best start through nine games in program history for UIS. The only two losses for the Prairie Stars have come against 24th ranked Missouri Western State, 82-72, and a Southern Indiana team receiving votes for the top 25, 98-85.

UIS also owns a regular season win over Bradley, 79-71, and held the Braves to 39 percent shooting and just 13 percent from three-point range.

Lauren Ladowski leads Illinois Springfield averaging 16.9 points. She has scored in double-figures in all nine games and ranks fifth in the GLVC in scoring.

Lady Panthers Road Streak
The Drury Lady Panthers have won 38 straight road games, the longest road winning streak in NCAA-II women's basketball by 24 games. Drury is 5-0 on the road this season, and they won all 10 of their road contests last year. The Lady Panthers were undefeated in 2019-20, and 11 of those wins came on the road. They also went 12-0 on the road in 2018-19. Their last road loss came in the NCAA-II Midwest Regional Championship at Ashland, 79-73, on March 12, 2018.
