SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury won three matches against Central Oklahoma, but the Broncos, ranked fourth in NCAA-II, came away with a 30-9 win over the Panthers at Weiser Gym on Thursday night.
 
Drury got on the board with a win by Peter Kuster in the 141-pound weight class. In a battle of nationally-ranked combatants, Kuster rallied late for an 8-6 decision over Nate Keim.
 
Will Kuster, the reigning conference wrestler of the week, improved to 5-0 on the season, winning a 5-4 decision over Ty Lucas in a bout that went back and forth.
 
Ethan Smith gave Drury a win in the 174-pound class as he defeated Barrett Haemker 8-5.
 
Central Oklahoma, though, picked up three wins by Technical Fall and one win by Fall to outdistance Drury on the scoreboard.
 
"I everybody wrestled extremely tough," said Drury head coach James Reynolds. "It wasn't a perfect match for Peter Kuster, but he was able to fight back in a match against a really tough opponent. At 157, Jon O'Connell stepped in for us and I thought he could have won that match if he had gotten his motor started a little earlier. Will Kuster was able to get a win against an All-American and we knew that would come down to each one's gas tank, but Will made that happen. Ethan Smith was similar in that he needed to grind down his opponent and was able to do that."
