Terrion Moore's triple-double leads Lady Panthers past Emporia State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Fifth-year senior Terrion Moore posted a triple-double on Saturday afternoon, propelling the 10th ranked Drury Lady Panthers to a decisive 91-58 win over the Emporia State Lady Hornets at the O'Reilly Family Event Center, to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Moore poured in a Drury career-best 19 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in pacing an up-tempo attack that ran away from the Lady Hornets and became just the third player in Drury program history to record a triple-double, joining legends Paige Robinson and Hailey Diestelkamp.

"The thing we've known about Terrion is that she's taken on a new role this year in every aspect," said Drury head coach Amy Eagan.  "And I'm so happy it's paying off for her now because she can do so many things with the ball in her hands on both ends of the floor."

After falling behind early by seven points to Emporia State, the Lady Panthers went on a 30-7 run to close out the first quarter and into the second period, limiting the visitors to just 5 points in the second stanza.

Also key for the Lady Panthers was their effort on the boards, as they out-rebounded their taller opponents 49-33 while forcing Emporia State into twenty turnovers and committing just ten for the game.

"We just stayed the course after their start," added Eagan. "I thought we were executing well, but we knew we needed to turn up our defensive effort and rebounding was huge for us, creating an extra twenty possessions."

Supporting the triple-double showing by Moore, was senior Alana Findley, who dropped in 16 points, while junior Allie Clevenger added ten.

The Lady Hornets (2-1), were paced in scoring by Tre' Zure Jobe, who finished with a game-high 23 points.

The Lady Panthers continue their early season home stand on Tuesday, November 22nd, when they host Cedarville in a 5:30 game in the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center Thanksgiving Classic at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
