Drury heads to Southern Arkansas for final game before Holiday break
Drury plays the final game before the semester break, and an NCAA mandated seven-day suspension of basketball activities on Monday at Southern Arkansas. Tipoff is at 5 pm in Magnolia, Arkansas.
 
The Panthers are 3-7 and coming off of a 67-64 loss at home to Quincy on Dec. 10. Two of Drury's last three games have been decided on the final possession. The Panthers lost to Missouri S&T, 82-79, on Nov. 29, then fell at Maryville on a free throw with 0.6 seconds remaining, 67-66, on Dec. 3. Then Quincy hit a three with three seconds left to down the Panthers 67-64.
 
Drury is led by Lebanon product Quenton Shelton. The junior is averaging 11.9 points, while forward Adam Moore is putting in 11.1 points and 5.5 rebounds.
 
Southern Arkansas is 6-3 and earned a 62-53 win at home on Saturday over Arkansas Tech. The Muleriders have won three straight with an 89-67 win at Ouachita Baptist on Dec. 10, and a 94-58 victory over Harding prior to their win on Saturday.
 
LaTreavin Black and Blake Rogers both lead Southern Arkansas in scoring averaging 11.1 points. Black also averaging 7.1 rebounds for a Muleriders team that is out-rebounding opponents by more than 11 per game.
 
After Monday's game and an in-between semester break, the Panthers return to the floor at home on New Year's Eve. Drury hosts St. Mary (Kan.) at the O'Reilly Family Event Center for a 1 pm game on Dec. 31.
