Panthers resume schedule Saturday vs. St. Mary
The Panthers return to the court for the first time since Dec. 19 when they host St. Mary (Kan.) at 1 pm on New Year's Eve at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
After Drury's game on Dec. 19 at Southern Arkansas, the Panthers went into an NCAA-mandated seven-day break and resumed practices earlier this week. DU lost their last game, 87-78, at Southern Arkansas. Drury had a 43-39 lead in that game but was outscored 23-12 in the last seven minutes of regulation. Logan Applegate had a season-high 26 points to lead the Panthers in that contest.
 
Adam Moore and Quenton Shelton both lead Drury in scoring averaging 11.7 points per game. Moore also contributes 5.7 rebounds per contest.
 
St. Mary is 5-9 and will be playing their first game since Dec. 13. The Spires won that game, 87-70, at Avila. St. Mary got off to a 4-2 start, then lost seven straight before their win over Avila in their last game.
 
The Spires are led by Deshaud St. Martin who is averaging 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds.
 
Saturday's game is Drury's last non-conference game of the season. The Panthers return to action on Thur., Jan. 5 when they host McKendree for a 7:45 pm tipoff. Drury plays only GLVC squads for the rest of the season.
