Drury faces McKendree on Homecoming
The Drury Panthers hosts McKendree on Saturday at 3 pm on Homecoming weekend.
 
Drury is 7-12 and 4-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Panthers are coming off of an 81-63 loss at home to Southern Indiana on Thursday.
 
McKendree is 11-7 and 7-7 in the league. The Bearcats went overtime on Thursday and lost 75-70 at Missouri S&T. McKendree has gone 6-3 since Jan. 8.
Saturday's game is the only regular season meeting between the two squads and is the first game that Drury head coach Chris Foster has faced his former team. Foster was the head coach at McKendree for the previous three seasons and went 34-40, but led the team to their best finish ever in the GLVC as they finished in fourth last year.
 
Drury won both games against McKendree last season, with both contests going into overtime. The Panthers won at home 92-88 in OT on Jan. 6, then took the game at McKendree, 82-77, on Feb. 11 in a contest that also went an extra period.
 
Drury leads the all-time series against the Bearcats 14-6.
 
Malek Davis enters Saturday's game leading the Panthers in scoring, averaging 15.2 points. The junior from St. Louis is averaging 21.7 points in his last three games.
 
About the Bearcats 
McKendree started 1-4 in the GLVC but has since recovered to get to 7-7 in the conference play.
 
Like Drury, McKendree is one of the oldest programs in college basketball with 112 years of history. A long-time NAIA power, the Bearcats are in their 10th season in Division II.
 
Bryson Bultman leads McKendree averaging 21.1 points, six rebounds, and 3.6 assists. The Nashville, Illinois, native is shooting .518 from the field, .390 from three-point range, and .772 from the free-throw line.
 
Next Up
The Panthers make their final regular season road trip next week. Drury travels to Lewis on Thursday with a 7:30 pm game in Romeoville, Illinois. The Flyers are the overall leaders in the GLVC's Point Rating System.
 
Saturday, the Panthers play at Indianapolis for a 3 pm game at UIndy.
