OZARK, Mo.— The Drury Panthers won their fifth-straight game to start the season, and for the fifth time in a row, they scored double-digits as Drury defeated Winona State 17-2 on Friday at US Baseball Park in Ozark.
Tyler Bastunas went 5 for 5 with three runs and a triple, while
Brant Schaffitzel and
Aaron Mann both had three-hit games. Schaffitzel scored twice and drove in two runs while adding a triple. Mann hit a double, and a triple with two runs and two RBI's.
Nikko Calabro continued his torrid start as the junior from St. John's, Florida, went 2 for 5 with two runs, three RBI's, and he smacked his third home run of the year. Calabro has driven in 14 runs in his first five games of the year.
Colby Childs (1-0) got the win going six innings and giving up just two hits and one run while striking out six.
Logan Pittman worked the last three innings to pick his first save.
Winona State dropped to 0-4 with the loss.
The two teams play game two of their three-game set on Saturday at noon at US Baseball Park in Ozark.
