BRANSON, Mo.— Drury swept a doubleheader from Northwest Missouri State winning both games in a run in the bottom of the seventh at the Ballparks of America complex in Branson on Monday.
The Panthers improved to 9-5 and extended their winning streak to five games. The Bearcats dropped to 4-13 with the losses.
After giving up five runs in the last two innings, including three in the top of the seven, Drury salvaged a game one win two runs in the bottom half of the frame. Panthers left-fielder
Meagan Mullaney tied the game at 5-5 with a double, then
Lauren Beier ended the game with a base-hit to give a Drury a 6-5 win.
Gracie Thomas went 2 for 3 in the game for the Panthers with a double a run scored.
Drury pulled off the sweep as they also won the second game with a run in the bottom of the seventh. With the game tied 4-4,
Lauren Beier led off the inning with a single, then
Sydney Sneed drove in the winning run with a triple.
Camryn Bedell went 2 for 3 with two runs batted in, a run scored and a double in game two.
The Panthers host the Drury Classic this weekend with games Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Thompson Field in Springfield
