Panthers start three-game homestand Monday vs. William Jewell
Drury plays the first of three straight home games on Monday against William Jewell at 7 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center. Monday's game was originally scheduled on Jan. 2 but was postponed due to COVID-19 cases on the Panthers roster.

Drury is 6-11, 3-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and is coming off of a 75-74 win at Lindenwood on Saturday. Monday's contest will be the third game in four days for the Panthers.

William Jewell is 11-10 and 7-6 in the GLVC. They are in second place in the GLVC's West Division and are eighth overall in the league's Point Rating System. The Cardinals are coming off of a 64-60 win at Southern Indiana on Saturday.

Monday's game is a rematch of a Jan. 13 game in Liberty, Missouri, won by William Jewell 68-58. The Panthers had an early lead, but William Jewell went on a 12-0 run midway through the first half and led 38-31 at halftime. The Cardinals held Drury to 37 percent shooting in the game (23 for 62) and the Panthers went 5 for 23 from three-point range. Trey Shannon led William Jewell with 20 points, while
Riley Naeger and
Victor Nwagbarachoa both had 12 for Drury. The 58 points by the Panthers in the game remains a season-low for DU.

Malek Davis is Drury's scoring leader for the season. The junior from St. Louis is coming off of a 31-point performance at Lindenwood on Saturday is averaging 15 entering Monday's game.

About the Cardinals
William Jewell features a balanced scoring attack led by Jordan Jermaine's 13.9 points per game average. Heri Tshiyoyo ranks third in the GLVC in rebounding, averaging 8.2 per game, and Kobe McKinley is second in the conference in steals averaging 2.2.

Cardinals head coach Chris McCabe is in his third year leading the program. McCabe arrived at William Jewell after coaching Liberty North HS for nine seasons and took the program to back-to-back state semifinal appearances during his tenure.

Drury's homestand continues on Thursday and Saturday. The Panthers host Southern Indiana on Thursday at 7:45 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center, then on Saturday, Drury will face McKendree on Homecoming weekend. Tipoff on Saturday is at 3 pm.
