Panthers host Southern Indiana
The Drury Panthers play the second of three home games on Thursday as they host Southern Indiana.

Drury is 7-11 and 4-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Panthers have won back-to-back games and moved into third place in the West Division. Drury is coming off of a 72-65 win at home over William Jewell on Monday and a 75-74 victory at Lindenwood on Saturday.

Southern Indiana is 13-5 and 8-4 in the league. The Screaming Eagles had a six-game winning streak on Saturday in a 64-60 loss at home to William Jewell.

The two teams played against one another once last season, and Southern Indiana hit free throws with one second left to beat Drury, 91-90, on Feb. 13 in Evansville.

The Screaming Eagles lead the all-time series against Drury 13-12.

Malek Davis leads Drury averaging 14.9 points with 3.4 assists.

About the Screaming Eagles
Southern Indiana opened the year against the best college basketball team in America in a 64-58 exhibition loss at Auburn. Auburn is ranked number one nationally by the Associated Press and number two in the USA Today coaches' poll. The Screaming Eagles trailed by only two at the half, 34-32, then were outscored 34-22 in the second half.

Southern Indiana allows only 64.6 points per game and they've held opponents to .390 shooting from the field.

Jelani Simmons leads the Screaming Eagles averaging 12.6 points per game. Tyler Henry and Jacob Polakovich are putting up 11.6 points per contest.

Winning since the shutdown
The Panthers are 3-2 since they were shut down for two weeks due to COVID-19 issues on their roster. Drury emerged from the forced break with an 82-76 win over Missouri S&T on Jan. 29. After losses at Southwest Baptist and Missouri-St. Louis, the Panthers earned a road win at Lindenwood and defeated William Jewell at home.
