SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers are back at home this weekend as they host Southern Indiana in a non-conference, three-game series at US Baseball Park in Ozark on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's doubleheader starts at noon, then the final game of the series is a noon start on Sunday.
Drury is 13-4 and ranked 25
th in this week's NCAA-II poll. The Panthers have lost three straight, all at the hands of nationally-ranked teams. Drury lost to 11
th ranked Central Missouri last Wednesday, then fell twice to 17
th ranked San Angelo State last weekend.
Southern Indiana is 9-5 and took two of three games from Davenport earlier this week. The Screaming Eagles started the year 5-0 with wins over Young Harris and Lake Erie. USI is 4-1 on the road this season. Last year, Southern Indiana went 24-20 and 18-14 in the GLVC.
The Panthers and Screaming Eagles haven't played one another since 2019. The two teams did not meet in 2021, and in 2020, Southern Indiana was Drury's next opponent when the rest of the year was canceled by the coronavirus pandemic. Drury won two of the three games against the Eagles in 2019 with all three games at US Baseball Park.
Following the weekend series against Southern Indiana, the Panthers are back at home on March 23 when they host Missouri Southern State at 4 pm at US Baseball Park.
