Lady Panthers face Rockhurst in GLVC Quarterfinals
The Drury Lady Panthers will take on Rockhurst in the Great Lakes Valley Conference quarterfinals, Thursday at 2:30 pm in First Community Arena in Edwardsville, Illinois.
 
Drury, ranked eighth nationally in this week's NCAA-II coaches' poll, is the tournament's number two seed and brings in a record of 28-4. The Lady Panthers went 17-3 in the league's regular season and advanced to the quarterfinals with a 97-51 win over William Jewell at home on Monday.
 
Rockhurst is 16-11 and went 11-9 during the GLVC's regular season. The Hawks are the seventh seed and rallied from 12 points down in the fourth quarter to beat Lindenwood in overtime, 68-64, in Kansas City on Monday to reach the quarterfinals.
 
The Lady Panthers beat Rockhurst twice during the regular season with a 73-44 win over the Hawks in Springfield on Dec. 4, and a 76-69 victory at Rockhurst on Jan. 15.
 
The winner of Thursday's game advances to the GLVC semifinals and will play the winner of third-seeded Missouri-St. Louis and number six Illinois Springfield. Tipoff of that semifinal game is 2:30 pm on Saturday in Edwardsville.
 
Lady Panthers seek sixth straight GLVC title
The Drury Lady Panthers have won eight GLVC championships, including the last five. Drury has won the league's tournament in 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2015, 2010, and 2008. In the last seven years, the Lady Panthers have gone 20-1 in the league's postseason and are 31-8 in the GLVC Tournament all-time.
 
They are 11-4 in the league quarterfinals and have not lost in that round since 2014. The Lady Panthers are 10-1 in the semifinals and 8-2 in the championship game. Drury enters this postseason with 15 straight wins in the conference's postseason event.
