Panthers host Truman State
Two teams looking to climb up in the conference standings meet on Saturday as the Drury Panthers host Truman State on Saturday at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Drury has gone 4-3 since Dec. 31 and is coming off of a win on Thursday over William Jewell, 72-60.
 
Truman State is 8-9 and 3-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bulldogs have won two straight, with an 81-71 win at home over Southwest Baptist on Monday and an 89-80 victory at Missouri S&T on Thursday. Truman State and Drury are tied for 11th in the standings.
 
Panthers guard Logan Applegate leads Drury in scoring averaging 12.1 points per game. The freshman from Nevada and We Are United Prep rose to the top of Drury's scoring chart, having averaged 20 points over his last eight games dating back to Dec. 18.
 
Truman State is led by Elijah Hazekamp. The 6'5" junior puts up 15 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
 
Saturday's game marks the first time Drury head coach Chris Foster has faced Truman State since he took over the Panthers program. Foster served as head coach at Truman State for four seasons (2014-18), going 83-40 with two NCAA-II Tournament appearances. He faced his former Truman State team as head coach at McKendree during his two years with the Bearcats.
 
After Saturday's game, the Panthers travel to Southwest Baptist on Thursday for a 7:30 pm contest in Bolivar.
