SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers opened their Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule with a 34-15 win over Quincy on Friday in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Drury won two matches by forfeit but took five of the eight contested bouts and won three by Techincial Fall and one by Major Decision.
 
Caden Howard earned a win at 133 pounds with a 15-0 Technical Fall against Perry Lake in just 1:59. Trevor Christian, a junior from Lebanon, won by the same score in 5:19, defeating Hunter Vernon at 149 pounds. Will Kuster, a junior out of Jefferson City, won the 157-pound match-up with an 18-1 Technical Fall victory over Gavin Morawitz.
 
Connor Zimmerman took down Aaron Taylor at 174 pounds, 11-4, and Owian Ulven won by Major Decision in the 197-pound match over Maxim Ryner, 19-8.
 
The Panthers compete again tomorrow in the Drury Open, starting at 9 am in Weiser Gym and the HYPR Center Gym.
