Lady Panthers overpower Tritons

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury's stars shined on Saturday in an 86-63 win over the Missouri-St. Louis at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Lady Panthers guard Terrion Moore scored a career-high 24 points on 11 of 16 shooting and added six rebounds. Alana Findley had 21 points while going 8 for 11 from the floor with seven rebounds and two steals, and Kaylee DaMitz-Holt added 10 points and six assists.

The win was Drury's 19th straight and raised their record to 23-1 and 16-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. They dropped UMSL to 9-14 and 7-10 in the league.

"I thought we really came out, both offensively and defensively, with purpose," said Drury head coach Amy Eagan. "We took a lot of good shots and executed a lot of ball-screen stuff that we wanted to run. Defensively, this might have been one of our best full-court pressing games. We created more turnovers right off the bat than we have in about any other game this year."

Drury created 20 turnovers off of the Tritons, but most came in the first half as the Lady Panthers took a 40-26 lead at halftime, then put the game away, outscoring UMSL 29-14 in the third period. Drury led by as much as 32 in the second half.

"Terrion had a great night," said Eagan. "She does a lot and plays so hard at both ends of the floor for us. She didn't force anything. She just took what was given to her and she's pretty crafty with the ball."

Jalysa Stokes had a game-high 27 points for Tritons.

Drury plays again on Thursday, Feb. 16 when they travel to Indianapolis for a 4:30 pm (CST) game against the Greyhounds.
