OZARK, Mo.-- The Drury Panthers open their home schedule this weekend with a three-game series against Rockhurst in non-conference games. The series starts Saturday with a game at noon, then a doubleheader starting at noon on Sunday.
 
Drury is 2-1 after winning two of three games at Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tennessee, last weekend. The Panthers took game one 11-6 and the second game 12-4. The Buccaneers won the third game of the series 20-13.
 
Rockhurst is 0-3 after being swept in a three-game set at Rogers State. The Hawks lost game one on Feb. 10, 2-1, then dropped the second game 7-6 on Saturday, and ended the series with an 11-1 loss last Sunday.
 
Panthers shortstop Brooks Sunny enters the weekend as the reigning Player of the Week in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Sunny hit .600 in three games last week, going 6 for 10 at the plate with three home runs and six runs batted in. The Eldridge, Iowa, native is a graduate transfer from Arkansas-Fort Smith, where he hit .292 with six home runs and a team-leading 44 RBIs.
 
Drury head coach Scott Nasby is closing in on 300 career wins and could reach the milestone if the Panthers sweep Rockhurst this weekend. Nasby is in his 11^th season as head coach at Drury and is 297-206-1 heading into Saturday's game. He has led Drury to two GLVC Championships and five NCAA-II Tournament appearances during his tenure.
 
Following their series with Rockhurst, the Panthers travel to Joplin for a game against Missouri Southern on Tuesday at 2 pm.
