Panthers home vs. Illinois Springfield
Drury enters the final week of the regular season with two home games as they host Illinois Springfield on Thursday and Lewis on Saturday.
Â
The Panthers are 8-18 and 4-14 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will be looking to bounce back from two road losses last week. Drury fell to Indianapolis, now ranked fourth in NCAA-II, 76-65, last Thursday and at McKendree, 79-64, on Saturday. DU won their last home game in a 69-58 victory over Missouri-St. Louis on Feb. 11.
Â
Illinois Springfield is 17-9, 11-7 in the GLVC, and is in third place in the league standings. The Prairie Stars have already set a program record for conference wins since joining the GLVC in 2009-10, and they are having their best season since joining NCAA-II.
Â
Thursday's game is the second meeting between the two teams this season, as Illinois Springfield won the earlier contest, 81-58, on Jan. 15 in Springfield, Illinois.
Â
After Thursday's game, the regular season ends on Saturday as Drury hosts Lewis at 1 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Â
Bombs Aways
Thursday's game features the top two three-point shooting teams in the GLVC. Illinois Springfield leads the conference averaging 10 made threes per game. Drury is right behind, hitting 9.3 threes per contest. Both teams are in the middle of the league in three-point percentage, with the Prairie Stars at .364 from long-range, while the Panthers have a .360 percentage from behind the arc.
