Illinois-Springfield took an early lead in the second, scoring two runs on several hits. Drury would strike back, scoring two runs over the next two innings to make it a 2-2 ballgame.
Luke Burk drove in the second run, with a long homerun to right field.
Illinois-Springfield would regain control of the game, scoring two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, to make it a 6-2 contest. The Panthers started a comeback when
Max Elmer drove in
Connor Bain and
Kellen Williamson, with a single to right field to cut the Prairie Star lead to just two runs.

Williamson would go on to drive in
Brooks Sunny in the ninth, to make it a one run game, but the Panthers ultimately fell just short.

Cody Bahl (3-1) took the loss for the Panthers. Matt Blaney got the win for the Prairie Stars.
