SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury blanked William Jewell twice as they swept a doubleheader from the Cardinals, winning game one 8-0 in five innings, and game two 1-0, on Monday at Thompson Field in Springfield.
 
The Panthers raised their record to 15-13 and 3-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while William Jewell dropped to 4-14 and 0-2 in the GLVC.
 
Kristina Bettis held William Jewell to one hit as Drury won the first game 8-0 in five innings. The Panthers scored five runs in the first inning, then added three more in the second. Bettis (9-6) allowed a hit to the first batter she faced, then shut down William Jewell, allowing no walks with one hit-by-pitch while striking out eight. 
Lauren Beier went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, stolen base and a run scored for the Panthers.

Gracie Thomas, and 
Kailyne Luna all had two RBI's in the game.
 
In game two, Drury scored a run in the first inning and Panthers starting pitcher 
Lindsay Henson made the run hold up in a 1-0 win. 
Rylee Kolb got a lead-off walk in the first, was sacrificed to second on a bunt by 
Sophia Luetticke, then scored on a base hit by 
Reagan Hight. Henson (2-3) held William Jewell off the scoreboard going all seven innings and allowed just two hits. She did not allow a walk and struck out five. 
 
Drury goes on the road on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader at Emporia State. Game one of the doubleheader starts at 3 pm in Emporia, Kan.
