ST. LOUIS, Mo.— The number 21 ranked Drury Panthers struggled in their last two games of a non-conference series against the Maryville Saints at Weber Baseball Field in St. Louis.

Drury's record fell to 9-6 while Maryville jumped to 6-5.

In game one, Wes Collins gave the Panthers an early 1-0 lead with a single that drove Max Elmer home. Maryville then rattled off seven straight runs in the third and fourth innings. Collins then drove in Drury's second run with a solo homerun in the sixth inning.

Mason Meeks went 3.1 and was settled with the loss. Maryville's Jamie Young was awarded the win for the Saints.

Game two was much of the same for Drury. Conner Bain gave the Panthers a lead in the third inning with a single that scored Jeremiah Cabuyaban. The Saints then rallied in the fourth and fifth innings as the hosts scored six unanswered. The top of the seventh was where the Panther bats came to life as three straight doubles scored Cooper Munro and Wes Collins. An error by the Maryville third-baseman allowed Luke Burk to score and a Max Elmer sacrifice fly brought home Sawyer Smith. The Panthers could not muster up enough to score another run and the contest ended 6-5.

Jack Jones was settled with the loss as Ryan Louck got the win for the hosts.

The Panthers host Central Missouri on Wednesday, March 8th with the first pitch scheduled for 3 pm.
