Lady Panthers continue homestand vs. hot Maryville squad on Thursday
Drury plays the second game of a three-game homestand on Thursday against a Maryville team that comes to Springfield, having won four straight. Tipoff is at 7:45 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
The Lady Panthers are 9-4, 4-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and coming off a 77-49 win over Rockhurst on Saturday.
 
Drury has won 18 straight against Maryville in a series winning streak, with the last Maryville win over the Lady Panthers coming on Feb. 9, 2013 in Springfield. Drury leads the all-time series against the Saints 25-3.
 
The Saints are 6-7 and 2-4 in the GLVC but have been rolling since Dec. 9, having won four in a row. Maryville extended their win streak on Saturday with a 78-75 overtime win at Indianapolis. The Saints have won by an average of 25.8 points during their four-game run.
 
Drury is led by Beth Matas Martin, who is averaging 15.2 points. The graduate student from Spain is also shooting .435 from three-point range. Reese Schaaf is averaging 13.7 points and is coming off a double-double performance on Saturday against Rockhurst with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Following Thursday's game, the Lady Panthers are back at home on Saturday when they host Missouri S&T at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Martin 16 points away from 1,000 career points
Drury guard Beth Matas Martin is closing in on 1,000 career points at the NCAA level. The graduate student from Spain enters Saturday's game with 984 points. Martin scored 786 points in two seasons at Quincy and has 198 points this year with the Lady Panthers.
 
About Maryville
The Saints feature the reigning GLVC Player of the Week as Karlee Feldman averaged 17.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in two games last week. The 6'2" grad student from Bremen, Indiana, averages 8.2 points and 8.2 rebounds for the season.
 
Carson Fearday leads the team in scoring, averaging 14 points, while Antoinette Mussorici averages 13.2 points.
