Drury hosts Missouri S&T to conclude homestand
Drury ends a three-game homestand on Saturday when they host Missouri S&T at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Before the game, Drury Athletics will honor members of the 2004 Lady Panthers team that went 36-2 and finished as the NCAA-II Runner-Up.
 
Drury enters Saturday's game 10-4 and 5-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Lady Panthers escaped with a two-point win, 67-65, over Maryville on Thursday.
 
Missouri S&T is 3-13 and 0-8 in the GLVC. The Miners fell at Southwest Baptist on Thursday, 81-74, and have lost three straight.
 
Drury's Reese Schaaf has posted double-doubles in her last two games and had 19 points and a career-high 17 rebounds on Thursday against Maryville. Beth Matas Martin, who surpassed 1,000 career points in her career on Thursday, leads the Lady Panthers, averaging 15.6 points. The graduate student from Spain leads the GLVC in three-point percentage (.441) and three-pointers made (2.9 per game).
 
Drury has won 21 straight games against Missouri S&T and leads the all-time series 35-3.
 
After Saturday's game, the Lady Panthers go on the road to take on Upper Iowa on Thursday for a 5 pm game.
 
About Missouri S&T
Last season, Missouri S&T won 15 games and went 11-9 in the GLVC, their most successful season in a decade. The Miners lost five key players to graduation, however, and this year's team features only one senior and four freshmen. Their three wins this year have been against Principia (84-53), Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (60-53), and Cottey (70-41).
 
Katelynn Roberts leads Missouri S&T and ranks third in the GLVC in scoring, averaging 17.7 points, and is fourth in rebounding with a 8.5 average.

Drury guard Beth Matas Martin surpassed 1,000 career points in Thursday's win over Maryville. Matas Martin scored 20 points on Thursday, giving her 1,004 points in her four-year college career. The graduate student from Spain scored 786 points in two seasons at Quincy, then transferred to Drury and has 218 this season with the Lady Panthers.
