Drury concludes road trip at Truman State
Drury concludes their two-game road trip on Saturday at Truman State with a 1 pm game in Kirksville, Missouri.
 
The Lady Panthers have won four straight and enter the game 12-4 with 7-3 record in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury started the northern road swing with an 88-69 win at Upper Iowa on Thursday.
 
Truman State snapped a four-game losing streak on Thursday and picked up their first conference of the year in a 99-75 blowout of Southwest Baptist at home. The Bulldogs are 4-11 and 1-8 in the league.
 
Drury has won 19 of the 20 meetings in the all-time series against Truman State. The Lady Panthers loss in the series came in their last trip to Kirksville when they fell 67-66 on Jan. 17, 2022. Drury won the only game between the two teams last year, 80-63, in Springfield on Jan. 21, 2023.
 
Reese Schaaf enters Saturday's game with double-doubles in four straight games. The sophomore from El Dorado Springs has seven double-doubles for the season and is averaging 21.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in her last four games. Schaaf is putting up 15.8 points and 8.1 boards per contest for the season. She ranks fifth in the GLVC in rebounding and leads the league in field goal percentage (.587). Beth Matas Martin is also averaging 15.8 points and leads the conference in three-point percentage (.453) and three's per game (3.0). Caitlynn Daniels ranks first in the GLVC in free throw shooting (.975), and assists (5.7).
 
Drury returns home next week and will host Quincy on Thursday at 5:45 pm at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
About the Bulldogs
Truman State is the GLVC's top free throw shooting team with a .756 mark. Senior center Ellie Weltha leads the Bulldogs and ranks third in the GLVC in scoring (17.0) and is the league's top rebounder, averaging 8.9 per game.
 
Schaaf earns GLVC Player of the Week honors
Drury Lady Panthers forward Reese Schaaf was been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball for her performance in two games last week. Schaaf averaged 24 points, 15.5 rebounds, and shot 61 percent from the field last week as the Lady Panthers went 2-0. She hit 20 of her 33 shots from the field and made 8 of 9 free throw attempts.
 
Schaaf started the week with 19 points and 17 rebounds against Maryville on Thursday. Her 17 boards matched a season-high by any player in the GLVC this season. She followed that by scoring a career-high 29 points and pulling down 14 rebounds on Saturday against Missouri S&T. Schaaf went 12 for 15 from the field in Saturday's win over the Miners.

Drury leads the all-time series against Truman State 19-1. The Lady Panthers won the lone game between the two teams last year, 80-63, on Jan. 21 in Springfield. The lone Drury loss in the all-time series came in the Lady Panthers last trip to Truman State, 67-66, on Jan. 17, 2022.

Martin passes 1,000 career points
Drury guard Beth Matas Martin surpassed 1,000 career points on Jan. 11 in a win at home over Maryville. Matas Martin has 1,039 points in her four-year college career. The graduate student from Spain scored 786 points in two seasons at Quincy, then transferred to Drury and has 253 this season with the Lady Panthers.
