Hiland Dairy Kids Day

Drury hosts Central Oklahoma for 11 am tipoff on Hiland Dairy Kids Day
The Drury Lady Panthers take on Central Oklahoma on Wednesday morning. The 11 am tipoff is part of Hiland Dairy Kids Day at the O'Reilly Family Event Center. More than 2,500 elementary school students from across southwest Missouri are expected to attend.

Drury is 0-1 after falling by four, 81-77, to 15th ranked Ferris State on Sunday. Central Oklahoma enters Wednesday's game at 0-2.

The Lady Panthers got 16 points off the bench for Josie Storey, a junior transfer from Division I Tennesee-Martin, in Sunday's game against Ferris State. Anna Hitt added 14 points and six rebounds, while Rhi Gibbons chipped in 12 points.

Central Oklahoma started their season with a 68-63 loss at St. Cloud State in Minnesota on Nov. 8, then fell to Southwest Minnesota State, 73-62, on Nov. 9. The Broncos went 8-20 last year and 7-15 in the MIAA.

Drury and Central Oklahoma have only had one meeting in program history. The Lady Panthers defeated the Broncos 86-79 on Nov. 18, 2003, in Lawton, Okla.

Following Wednesday's game, the Lady Panthers play their first road contest of the year as they travel to Joplin to face Missouri Southern St. for a 6 pm tipoff.

About the Broncos
Central Oklahoma is coached by Emma Andrews, a native of Australia, who is in her third year leading the program. Andrews is in her ninth season as a collegiate head coach with a previous stop at Cameron and she played collegiately for Fresno State, where she was part of four straight WAC championships.

The Broncos have seven returners and two starters back from last year's squad.

With an enrollment of 12,000, Central Oklahoma is located in Edmond and their women's basketball program has reached the NCAA-II Tournament five times, most recently in 2017.
