Drury Hosts Rogers State In Home Opener
The Drury Panthers host Rogers State on Saturday at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center for their first home game of 2024-25.

Drury is coming off a season-opening win on Nov. 8 at Thomas More, 63-54 and is 1-0. Rogers State is 4-1 and started their season with four-straight wins until losing to Harding, 79-78, in their last game on Nov. 9.

Saturday's game is only the third meeting ever between the two programs and the all-time series is tied 1-1. Drury lost the last encounter with the Hillcats, falling 85-71 in Claremore, Okla., on Nov. 16, 2022. The Panthers defeated Rogers State at home, 89-64, on Nov. 30, 2019.

Drury's next game is on Nov. 21 when they host Graceland at 6 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Drury Debuts
While the Panthers return 11 players from last year's squad, two starters made their Drury debuts in the season opener and will play in their first home game on Saturday.

Zach Howell, a sophomore guard, scored 21 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and had 4 steals in his first game as a Drury Panther on Nov. 8 at Thomas More. Howell set the all-time scoring record at Springfield Catholic and started his collegiate career at Wisconsin-Milwaukee before transferring to Drury.

Colin Hardrick made his collegiate debut last week. The guard from Milwaukee, Wisc., and We Are United Prep started for Drury last week and had 7 points and 3 assists while going 3 for 5 from the field. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native came to Drury from We Are United Prep.

About Rogers State
Rogers State is off to a strong start, not just with a 4-1 record, but the Hillcats are shooting .551 from the field and .440 from three-point range in their first five games. They are averaging 81.8 points while allowing 70.6 and two of their four wins have come against teams receiving votes for the Top 25 in the NCAA-II preseason poll. Rogers State won at Montana State-Billings, 82-70 on Nov. 2, and defeated St. Edward's 83-76 on Nov. 3.

Kofi Hamilton leads the Hillcats, averaging 18.4 points and shooting .623 from the field, while Caden Fry is putting in 12.8 points and averaging 6.2 rebounds.
