Drury hosts Oasis Hotel & Convention Center Thanksgiving Classic
The Drury Lady Panthers host the Oasis Hotel & Convention Classic on Tuesday and Wednesday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center. Drury will take on Arkansas-Fort Smith on Tuesday at 5:30 pm, then Newman on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
 
Drury is 2-1 and coming off an 88-84 win in overtime at Missouri Southern St. on Nov. 20.
 
After the two games this week, the Lady Panthers open their GLVC schedule at home when they host Southwest Baptist at 5:45 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

About the Lions
Arkansas-Fort Smith is off to a 5-1 start and have won five in a row since a season-opening loss to Southern Arkansas (77-53). The Lions are coming off a 91-81 win last Saturday over Southeast Oklahoma State.
 
UAFS is in its first year in the MIAA after being a member of the Lone Star Conference. The Lions went 11-18 last season.
 
About the Jets
Newman is 3-3 and has already won more games this season than all of last year. The Jets went 2-26 and 1-21 in the MIAA last season. Newman has a win over a GLVC opponent this year after Newman's 68-52 win over William Jewell on Nov. 13.
 
The Jets are coached by Amy Briggs, now in her second year at Newman. Briggs was an assistant coach at Truman State from 2021-23 before taking over the Newman program.
