12/18/2024 9:00:00 AM

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury Baseball team and head coach Scott Nasby announced their 2025 schedule on December 18, headlined by an opening week trip to Hawaii.

The 54-game schedule showcases 25 games at Mark Worley Field at Meador Park. Four of the 25 games at home will be during the Drury Baseball Classic on February 21 through the 23. Drury will match up with seven teams that made the NCAA-II national tournament last season.

The Panthers will open their season in Hawaii for four regular season games and an exhibition. Drury will play Chaminade on opening day, January 31. The following day Hawaii Pacific will host Drury for a doubleheader. The final day of the trip out west will be one game against Chaminade before a 10:30 pm central time first pitch against Hawaii Pacific in an exhibition.

Following the trip to Hawaii, the Panthers will return to Springfield to host Central Missouri in a single game on February 11. This is one of five midweek games that Drury has during the 2025 season: including, at home against Northwest Missouri State (February 18), on the road against Central Missouri (March 5), hosting Missouri Southern (March 11), and Pittsburg State (April 1).

From February 21-23, the Panthers will host the Drury Baseball Classic which has five teams from three different conferences, and two regions. In the classic, Drury will play the Midwest regional runner-up Saginaw Valley State twice, Colorado State-Pueblo, and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) tournament champion Grand Valley State to round out play on February 23.

The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) tournament champions, Maryville, will host Drury for a three-game non-conference series from February 28-March 2.

GLVC play will open on March 7 with a four-game set against William Jewell in Springfield. The GLVC regular season and Midwest regional champions, Indianapolis, will host the Panthers from April 17-19. The five-time conference champions, Quincy, square off with Drury in Quincy from March 28-30.

Drury closes the regular season out at home against Southwest Baptist with four games from May 1-3.

The league tournament will be held in Marion, Illinois, at Mountain Dew Park for the third time from May 8-11. The top eight teams in the regular season will secure a spot in the double-elimination tournament.

The NCAA-II Baseball World Series is being held in Cary, North Carolina, for the 17th season during the first week of June.

Drury will have a new lineup in the 2025 season with only three of their top ten bats returning from the 2024 season. Connor Bain is the top returner with a .322 batting average and 33 RBIs a season ago. Four of Drury's top six pitchers, in relation to innings pitched, return this season, with Cody Bahl as the headliner. Bahl pitched in 89.1 innings last season with a team-best 3.43 ERA. Wesley Laaker threw 64.1 innings in 15 appearances.

The Panthers finished the 2024 season 27-25 (23-13 GLVC) and in third place in the conference.
