Lady Panthers host Northeastern State in final game before Holiday break
The Drury Lady Panthers host Northeastern State on Saturday at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center in their final game before the Holiday and NCAA 'Life In Balance' break.
 
Drury is 6-3 and coming off a loss to number one ranked Grand Valley State on Sunday in Champaign, Ill. The Lady Panthers fell to the Lakers 104-63, snapping a three-game winning streak.
 
Northeastern State is 5-5 and lost on Tuesday to Missouri Southern, 75-71, in Joplin. The RiverHawks have lost two of their last three games.
 
Saturday's game is the first meeting between the two teams since Nov. 29, 2014. The Lady Panthers won that contest, 93-52, at the O'Reilly Family Event Center as Hannah Dressler came off the bench to lead Drury with 13 points. The Lady Panthers lead the all-time series 10-4.
 
Drury enters Saturday's game led by Rhi Gibbons, who is averaging 15.8 points, while Caitylnn Daniels puts in 14.3 points, with 6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
 
Following Saturday's game, the Lady Panthers are idle until Jan. 3, when they travel to William Jewell for a 5:30 pm game in Liberty, Mo. 
 
About the RiverHawks
Northeastern State is a member of the MIAA and off to a 1-2 start in conference play.
 
The RiverHawks are led by Alex Hill. The senior and transfer from Arkansas Tech, averages 13.8 points. Courtney Lee, a senior from Sallisaw, Okla., averages 11.7 points and 6.5 rebounds.
 
Keith Ferguson is in his second year as head coach at Northeastern State after eight years at Bethany (Kan.), where he went 121-87.
 
Northeastern State is in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and carries an enrollment of 8,548.
