CANYON, Tex.— Eighth-ranked West Texas A&M bounced back from a 14-6 loss to Drury yesterday and scored 19 runs on their way to a 19-11 win over the Panthers on Saturday in Canyon, Texas.
The Buffalos lifted their record to 11-3 while Drury went to 2-3.
The Panthers had a 9-5 lead going into the bottom of the fifth, but West Texas A&M scored five runs in the frame to go in front 10-9. The Buffalos kept scoring, adding three runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.
Wes Collins homered twice for Drury, going 2 for 4 with three runs and four runs batted in.
Max Elmer went 3 for 3 and scored three times for the Panthers.
Glen Noronha had four hits for West Texas A&M, going 4 for 6 with a run and two RBIs. Zack Betancourt was 3 for 5 with two doubles and 3 RBIs.
The two teams conclude the series with an exhibition game on Sunday at noon in Canyon, Texas.
