EVANSVILLE, Ind.— The Drury Panthers ended their play in the Blue Bridge Battle with a 15-4 win over Walsh in 5 innings on Sunday in Evansville, Indiana.
The win gave Drury a 4-1 record in the three-day event and raised their record to 6-7. The Cavaliers dropped to 0-5.
The Panthers started the game with nine runs in the first inning.
Gracie Thomas started the scoring with a single that drove in two runs, then
Sophia Luetticke drove in two more with a double. The inning also featured a solo home run from
Lauren Beier.
Beier went 3 for 3 in the game with a run and two runs batted in, while
Victoria Garland went 2 for 3 with a run and a double. Luetticke went 2 for 2 with two runs and two RBIs.
Drury will play their home opener next weekend as they host the Drury Classic March 1-3 at Thompson Field at Meador Park. The Panthers open the tournament taking on Minnesota-Crookston on Friday at 11:30 am.
