Lady Panthers start Kansas City trip at Rockhurst
Drury starts a two-game road trip to the Kansas City area on Thursday with a game at Rockhurst at 5:15 pm.

The Lady Panthers have won eight straight games and carry a 16-4 record with an 11-3 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury won their lone game last week with a 102-70 victory at Southwest Baptist.

The Hawks are 11-8, 8-7 in the league, and are coming off an 84-74 loss at Illinois Springfield on Saturday. Rockhurst is undefeated at home this year and features a 10-0 mark at Mason-Halpin Fieldhouse. Among the victims on Rockhurst's home court are Lewis, Illinois Springfield, and Indianapolis.

Drury won the earlier meeting this season with a 77-49 win over the Hawks on Jan. 6 in Springfield and the Lady Panthers lead the all-time series 44-2.

Schaaf wins second GLVC weekly awardÂ

Reese Schaaf was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for the second week in a row following her performance on Saturday at Southwest Baptist.

In Drury's lone game last week, Schaaf scored 21 points and matched a career-high with 17 rebounds in a 102-70 win over the Bearcats in Bolivar. The sophomore from El Dorado Springs, Missouri, went 8 for 11 from the field, made her only three-point attempt, and was 4 for 6 from the free throw line. Schaaf added three steals and two assists in Saturday's win that fell on her birthday.

She was the GLVC Player of the Week last week and earned the honor for the week of Jan. 8-14.

Beth Matas Martin surpassed 1,000 career points on Jan. 11 in a win at home over Maryville. Matas Martin has 1,121 points in her four-year college career. The graduate student from Spain scored 786 points in two seasons at Quincy, then transferred to Drury and has 337 this season with the Lady Panthers.
