EAST PEORIA, ILL.— Drury split two games on Friday in the Great Lakes Conference Valley Tournament, defeating Truman State 8-0 and then falling to Missouri S&T 3-0.
In game one, the scoring action ignited in the third inning, with a
Lauren Beier double down the left field line, bringing home
Rylee Kolb.
Victoria Garland followed that up with a walk, allowing
Sophia Luetticke to score, extending Drury's lead.
Maggie McKee then singled, driving in Beier and increasing the Panther lead to 3-0.
Drury's offense continued to dominate in the third inning, with
Gracie Thomas singling to left field and bringing in two more runs, leaving Drury with a 5-0 lead. The Panthers would add three more runs in the following innings to close out the game in five innings.
AJ Agers (7-4) got the win for Drury, tossing five innings without allowing a run and striking out 3 batters.
In game two, the Panthers took on Missouri S&T where they would fall with a final score of 3-0.
The Miners scored in the first inning on a Drury error and once more in the 3
rd inning on a Sydney Anderson double to left field. Missouri S&T added another run in the 6
th inning on a wild pitch to make it a 3-0 ballgame and would hold on to close out the game.
Bryn Wooldridge (15-11) of Missouri S&T shutdown the Drury offense, tossing all seven innings and allowing only 3 hits.
The Panthers will now take on Lewis tomorrow at 9 am. The game will be streamed live on GLVCSN.
