Drury is back at home to host McKendree
The Drury Panthers are home for the first time since Dec. 16 as they host McKendree on Thursday at 7:45 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Drury is 6-8 and 1-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Panthers are coming off a 90-74 loss at 17th ranked Missouri S&T on Saturday. McKendree is 7-7 and 4-3 in the conference. The Bearcats lost at home to Truman St., 77-73, on Saturday in their last game.
 
The Panthers lead the all-time series against McKendree 16-8 and are 9-4 against the Bearcats since McKendree joined the GLVC. McKendree won the last year's encounter, 70-56, on Feb. 17 at Drury.
 
Drury has been on the road for five straight games and is finally back on their own floor, where they are 5-3 this season. The Panthers were 11-4 at the O' last year.
 
Drury's homestand continues after Thursday's game when they host Maryville on Saturday. Tipoff against the Saints is at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
DU tops GLVC steals chart
Drury leads the GLVC in steals, averaging 10.4 per game. The next closest team is Missouri S&T, with 9.7 per contest.
 
The Panthers have two players ranked in the top five in the GLVC in that category. Logan Applegate is second in the league in steals with 2.1 per game, and Colin Hardrick is fourth in the conference with an average of 1.8 steals. 
 
Applegate among Drury's top 50 all-time scorers
Drury guard Logan Applegate moved into Drury's top 50 all-time scorers last week and will enter Thursday's game ranked 49th on the scoring chart with 927 career points. He needs two points to pass Bruce Robbins (1980-82) for 48th and 12 points to get past Jerry Byrd (1961-65) for 47th on the all-time list.
 
About the Bearcats
McKendree is the top three-point shooting team in the conference with a percentage of .383. They rank fourth in the league in threes made per game, hitting 9.8 per contest. Destin Whitaker ranks second in the conference in three-point percentage with .528, and he is 13th in threes made per game (2.2).
 
Kevin Stein leads the Bearcats in scoring, averaging 15.3 points. The senior from Chester, NY, ranks 12th in the league in scoring, and he is fourth in assists, averaging 4.3 per game.
