Lady Panthers return to road to face Indianapolis
After two home games last week, the Drury Lady Panthers return to the road on Thursday as they take on Indianapolis for a 4 pm (CST) at Nicoson Hall in Indianapolis, Ind.
 
Drury is 12-4 and 8-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Lady Panthers went 2-0 last week with a 77-66 win over McKendree on Thursday, then a 90-69 victory against Maryville on Saturday. The wins put Drury in first place in the GLVC standings with a half-game lead over Lewis (13-2, 7-1).
 
Indianapolis is 14-3 and 2-7 in the GLVC. The Greyhounds have won two of their last three games, but are coming off a 58-46 loss at William Jewell on Saturday.
 
Drury is 18-5 all-time against Indianapolis and won the lone meeting against the Greyhounds last year, 78-70, on Dec. 2, 2023, in Indianapolis. The Lady Panthers have won 12 straight against the Greyhounds.
 
After Thursday's game, Drury travels to Illinois Springfield for a 1 pm game on Saturday in Springfield, Ill.
 
Daniels named GLVC Player of the Week
Drury guard Caitlynn Daniels was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball for her performance in two games during the week of Jan. 12-18.
 
Daniels averaged 15.5 points, 11.5 assists, six rebounds, and 2.5 steals in two games last week as the Lady Panthers went 2-0 with wins over McKendree and Maryville. The graduate student from Robins, Iowa, also shot 48 percent from the field, going 12 for 25, and hit 5 for 12 three-point attempts for 42 percent. Daniels registered two blocked shots and had double-doubles in both games last week with 11 points and 12 assists against McKendree on Thursday, followed by a 20-point, 11-assist performance against Maryville on Saturday. She also posted a 9.5 assist-to-turnover ratio in the two games last week.
 
Daniels has double-doubles in three straight games as she posted a triple-double on Jan. 11 at Missouri S&T, followed by double-doubles in two games last week.
 
About the Greyhounds
Indianapolis is led by a new head coach, Jama Sharp, who is in her season leading a collegiate program. Sharp was previously an assistant at Stetson, where she played and was a two-time All-Atlantic Sun Conference performer.
 
Patricia Chikamba leads the Greyhounds in scoring and ranks fifth in the GLVC, averaging 16.7 points and she ranks 10th in the league in rebounding, pulling down 7.2 per game. Amyrah Sapenter is third in the GLVC in steals, averaging 2.29 per game.
