SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – #23 Indianapolis took down Drury, 30-15, on Saturday in the first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) dual the Panthers have competed in since December 8.
The dual started strong for Drury.
Bryson Humphries gave the Panthers an early 3-0 advantage after picking up the win by decision, 13-9, over Nathan Smith.
The Panthers would drop the next three matches giving the Greyhounds a 17-3 advantage. Drury would add to their total with
Joe Kuster. Kuster and Nathan Conley would have a back-and-forth battle before a take down from Kuster would give him the win by decision, 7-4.
Drury would go back-to-back with the Kuster brothers, this time
Will Kuster. Will would take care of business and pick up his second technical fall win in a row and third straight win.
Wade Stanton was the final Drury wrestler to add points to the team total in the 197 class. After an early take down from Stanton, he would maintain control throughout the match to win by a major decision of 14-4.
The Panthers hit the road next weekend to wrestle at Quincy (January 31) and #7 McKendree (February 1) for two more GLVC duals.
