Lady Panthers in showdown with Lewis
Saturday's game between Drury and Lewis is a showdown between the top two teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference as both the Lady Panthers and Flyers enter the contest with only one league loss. Tipoff is at 1 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Drury is 15-4 overall with an 11-1 mark in the GLVC, while Lewis is 16-2 and 10-1 in the league. Saturday's game is the only regular season match-up between the two teams.

The Lady Panthers have won five straight and extended the win streak with a 74-67 win over Upper Iowa on Thursday. Drury's only loss in the GLVC came at Missouri S&T on Jan. 11, 63-57.

Lewis won at Missouri S&T on Thursday, 59-49, and has won three in a row. The Flyers only setback in conference play was a 69-60 loss at Truman State on Jan. 18. Lewis' other loss this year came against Northern Michigan, 53-48, on Nov. 9 in the second game of the season.

Drury leads the all-time series against Lewis 16-7, but the Flyers won both games against the Lady Panthers last year. Lewis won the regular season encounter 72-69 on Nov. 30, 2023, in Romeoville, Ill., and the Flyers defeated Drury 79-67 in the GLVC Championship game on March 10 in St. Charles, Mo.

After Saturday's game, Drury returns to the road to take on Truman State on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 5:15 pm in Kirksville, Mo.

Hitt closing on 400 rebound club
Drury's Anna Hitt is 3 rebounds away from 400 boards in her career. The senior from Ozark, Missouri, enters Thursday's game with 397 rebounds and now ranks 18th all-time at Drury. She needs 17 more rebounds to pass Reese Schaaf (2022-24) for 17th on the career rebounding list.

About the Flyers
Lewis leads the GLVC in turnover margin at +3.3 per game (the Lady Panthers are last in the league in this category at -2.2) and the Flyers are second in the conference in turnovers per game, committing just 13 per game. Lewis is also second in the league in points allowed, as they give up just 56.4 per game.

Taylor Gugliuzza leads the Flyers in scoring, averaging 15.2 points. The graduate student from New Lennox, Ill., ranks seventh in the GLVC in scoring.

Jenna Badali is third in the GLVC in assists, averaging 3.8 per game and ranks second in free throw shooting at .852.

The Flyers won the GLVC Championship last year, breaking Drury's run of eight straight league titles. Lewis won the regular season, going 19-3 in the GLVC and 23-9 overall. The Flyers then won the GLVC Tournament for the first time since 2013.
