Lady Panthers back on the road at Lincoln
The Drury Lady Panthers play their third straight road game as they play at Lincoln at 5:30 pm in Jefferson City, Missouri, on Thursday night.
Drury is 9-3 and 5-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Lady Panthers are one of two teams in the GLVC with a perfect record and enter Thursday's game tied for first place in the league standings with Lewis (11-1, 5-0). Drury has won three straight games and will be looking to win four straight for the first time this year.
Lincoln is 1-10 and 0-5 in the GLVC. The Blue Tigers are looking to break a 10-game losing streak and are coming off an 80-49 loss to Quincy on Friday. Lincoln's game against Truman State last weekend was postponed.
Thursday's game is the first meeting between the two teams within the GLVC. Lincoln joined the conference this season. Drury and Lincoln were in the same league as members of the Heartland Conference from 2000-01 to 2004-05. The Lady Panthers have never lost to the Blue Tigers and are 13-0 all-time against Lincoln.
After Thursday's game, Drury's road trip continues as they travel to Missouri S&T on Saturday for a 1 pm game at Rolla.
Daniels nears another milestone
Drury's
Caitlynn Daniels is nearing another milestone. The graduate student from Robins, Iowa, is only three rebounds away from 500 in her career, combining her totals from Alabama-Birmingham and at Drury. This season, Daniels has already surpassed 1,000 career points (now has 1,073), and 400 career assists (now has 422). Daniels ranks 11th on Drury's all-time assist chart with 298 and is just three behind Annie Armstrong (2013-16) with 302.
Getting Offensive
Drury enters Thursday's game averaging 80.4 points per game, the top team scoring average in the conference. The Lady Panthers are also shooting .468 from the field, a mark that ranks second in the league.
