WICHITA, Kan. -- Drury men's bowling kicked off its 2025-26 season by competing in the Mid-States Championships in Wichita, Kan. (Oct. 18).

Competing in a field of 29 collegiate bowling clubs, the Panthers secured 14th place. David Lutchka, a freshman from Carterville, Ill., led DU with his 17th place among 300 competitors. He bowled the Panthers' highest game for the weekend with a score of 259.

Drury head coach Ted Barbee praised the team's effort in their first competition of the season, noting the young talent and the opportunity for growth.

"We had a solid performance," Barbee commented. "That experience and work ethic as a team in practice will lead to improved performances throughout the year and into post-season play in the spring. I am excited to see what these guys are going to achieve as a team and their growth as individual players."

The Panthers are set to compete next on Saturday (Oct. 25) at the Jayhawk Classic in Lawrence, Kan.
