SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury women's basketball tips off its 2025-26 campaign on Tuesday night in the O'Reilly Family Event Center at 5:45 p.m. with an exhibition against William Woods.

The Lady Panthers and Owls are meeting for the third time in the two programs' history. The previous two meetings have also been in preseason exhibitions. Drury has won both of the previous meetings, but not without some scares. In the first meeting, the game came down to the final possession, and in the most recent game, Drury trailed 29-26 after the first quarter.

Fans may follow the action through the GLVC Sports Network (subscription required), where games will be streamed live throughout the regular season. New for the 2025-26 academic year, viewing access to live broadcasts from GLVC regular season and postseason contests will be available via monthly subscription ($30) or annual subscription ($140). Single-event access can also be purchased for $15. All Drury Lady Panthers games will also have live audio coverage available on DU All-Access for free.

SERIES HISTORY VS WILLIAM WOODS
  • Drury and William Woods are meeting for their third exhibition matchup.
  • The Lady Panthers have won each of the previous two meetings.
  • The first meeting was in 2011 — a 51-48 win for Drury.
  • The second meeting came prior to the 2019-20 season — a 139-74 Drury win.

STORYLINES
  • This will be the first time this season that the Lady Panthers showcase their 2025-26 team in front of a crowd.
  • William Woods will be playing its fourth game of the season on Tuesday evening — two regular-season contests and one exhibition against Truman State.
  • Drury will feature a new starting lineup from last season. The Lady Panthers return two starters from the 2024-25 team: Sara Mendel and Rhi Gibbons.
  • Gibbons enters the season coming off a first-team All-GLVC year. The senior averaged 14 points last season.
  • The Owls have yet to win a game this season and have an average margin of loss of 22.5 points.
  • Mya Pflasterer is the leading scorer for William Woods, averaging 18.5 points per game.
  • Tuesday will be just the second exhibition Drury has played under Kaci Bailey in the last five seasons. The only other exhibition under Bailey was prior to her first season — a 113-77 win over Lyon.
  • Bailey enters her third season as the Lady Panthers' head coach. She holds a 47-14 record through her first two seasons, which is tied for the third-best record for a Drury head coach in their first two seasons with Steve Harold. She trails only Amy Eagan (56-7) and Molly Miller (52-9).
  • There are seven letter winners from last season returning for the 2025-26 campaign: Jazz Gray, Josie Storey, Audra Pasakarnis, Rhi Gibbons, Kaylee King, Sara Mendel, and Sophie Hessler.
  • The Lady Panthers enter this season as the GLVC favorites, as voted on by league coaches.
  • Drury is also receiving votes in the preseason Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll.
  • The regular season will start on Sunday, Nov. 16, at Ferris State.
  • Tuesday's exhibition against William Woods will open up the O'Reilly Family Event Center for its 16th season. The Lady Panthers are 192-21 all-time in games played in the O'.

LOOKING AHEAD
The 2025-26 regular season starts Sunday, Nov. 16, in Michigan, as Drury begins a two-game trip against Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State (Nov. 18).
