SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury men's basketball junior guard Avante Nichols has been dismissed from the program, head coach Chris Foster announced Tuesday.

In his first season as a Panther, Nichols started six of Drury's first seven games, averaging 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. The Atlanta product also ranked among the Great Lakes Valley Conference's leaders in field goal percentage (.651) through the first three weeks of the season.

Drury (4-3, 0-1 GLVC) will take on Truman State Thursday (Dec. 4) evening in a 7:30 p.m. GLVC contest in Kirksville.
